2004 Season Tribute
Comments sent in by devoted fans / parents / players of the 2004 Franklin High Rebels.
I would like to thank the FHS players especially the seniors and Coach Tim Johnson and his excellent staff for a wonderful year. Carl, Joe, and I have attended 42 games of Carl C's three years of varsity and have enjoyed everyone of them (much excitement and near heart attacks in some). I grew up in Gallatin where Friday night football is a tradition. FHS has taken it to the Revel Level and has started a tradition for future years. Thank you seniors for your excellent leadership and the cherished memories. We are so proud of everyone of you fine young men.

In 2002, we were two games short of the championship. In 2003, we were one game short of the championship game. And this year we were in the championship game, albeit a losing effort. Obviously, next year we bring home the bacon!! (AKA , jewelry!!!)

I am from Louisiana and I attended one of the games back in September. My nephew played on the 9th grade team and we went to the varsity game on Friday night. I was real impressed with the team and looking forward to seeing him play the next three seasons.

We are very proud of our "REBELS"! What began as a season that was a rebuilding year...and in which no one seemed to believe that the Rebel team could repeat the accomplishments of the 2003 campaign...quietly turned the 2004 season into the most memorable football season that Franklin High has had in its long history....The final crowning moment was the first trip to the State 5A Championship game.
Thank you Coach Johnson and all of the other fabulous coaches for the leadership you instilled in our boys...and for the character you showed during this season.
Thank you seniors...Steven #44, David #16, Mac #14, Dawson #42, Brooks #43, Derrian #22, Bubba #70, Tim #77, David # 21, Shannon #2, JC #3, Carl #65, Ben #56, Antonio #57, and James #47 for your leadership. Each and everyone of you made a "big statement" this year when everyone felt that this team would not have the year the the 2003 team had. You proved everyone wrong! You and all of your dedicated teammates are to be congradulated on having the best and most rewarding season in Franklin High School History.
From all of the parents and friends of FHS REBEL FOOTBALL...we thank you for the great moments you gave us during the 2004 season. Good luck to each of you in future years!

I started new this year watching my nephew, Todd Crawford, #40 and was hooked for the entire season. I enjoyed watching the game and loved going out on the field after the game complimenting the players on a well played winning game. I look forward to the season next year. Falling one game short is not an option for the 2005 season. Go Rebels!!!

Without the fans support (family and friends) we would not have gotten as far as we did this year as a TEAM. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the best season in Franklin history and it was the best way to go out as a senior.

From the first game at Lincoln County until the State Championship, it was so exciting to witness how the team continued to win by playing as a group of young men with a common purpose. Even as underdogs we refused to give in to defeat. It was such a pleasure to observe the efforts of each member of the team. The bar is definitely lifted for the future of Franklin Rebel football.
Looking forward the bringing home the hardware next year!!!

This year's Franklin football TEAM has given new meaning to the word "team". Most of the seniors have been together all 4 years -many of them since they were playing for the Williamson County Cowboys as 8 and 9 yr olds. Their unselfishness and committment to the team was exemplified by the way they welcomed new players such as Bubba Lane, Mac Hibbett and several others to the team after being away from football for a while. It
was also evidenced by their support and encouragement of the younger players that were thrust into significant roles due to injuries to some of the more experienced guys. It's not very often that you find a group of young men that care more about the team than themselves.
Much will be written about how this year's team accomplished more than anyone thought they would or could, having been picked by the so called "experts" to finish as low as 6th in their own region. However, one man in particular believed in this team. Coach Tim Johnson. Coach J and I were talking after the Columbia game in week 2 when he told me that HE BELIEVED that this year's team had the talent and the potential to go to the
Championship game. I still get chills when I think about what it must have meant to his players to know that even when no one else believed they could, their Coach did.
What a great time! We'll see everybody at STATE next year!! Go Rebels!

As parents of a senior player, we have watched a group of athletes come and go through their four seasons at Franklin High. We have been thrilled in watching the successes they have had in finishing their high school football careers with a trip to the state championship. We have watched with amazement in their abilities on the field. But nothing has been so rewarding as watching them grow from boys to fine young men.
We want to thank Coach Johnson and the whole coaching staff for their dedication to building character in these young men.

In 2002, I took Brooks and Steven Hotard to the state championship at MTSU to watch Brentwood play Riverdale. I will never forget the look on their faces when they first walked into the stadium and them both saying "whoa" as they saw how awesome a sight it was. Right then, it became my wish for them to play there one day for the state championship.
That wish came true this year.

WHAT AN AWESOME YEAR FOR THE REBELS!!! I know you guys worked hard and it paid off. We are all proud of you for how far you took Franklin High School. The state sure knows who we are! You played to do nothing else but win. I am so glad I got to be a part of the Rebels and will miss the excitement. Thanks guys for being a part of Steven's life. Thanks parents for putting up with Steven, feeding him, caring about him, cheering him on, and a lot of times, letting him make your house his. I know we will stay in contact. Thanks coaches for being a great example to Steven. He/we will never forget his years at Franklin.
